Answer

We already use ChatGPT.
Do we need anyone?

Usually not, if the work is a person prompting a chat window. The gap that needs outside help is different: work that has to happen on a schedule, across systems, when nobody is watching.

Usually not, and the distinction is sharp. If the work is a person opening a chat window and getting a better draft, that is already solved and paying someone to formalise it is waste. What outside help is for is different: work that has to run on a schedule, across two or more systems, and produce the same output whether or not anyone remembers to start it.

The test that separates the two

Ask whether the work stops when a specific person is out for two weeks. If a marketer uses ChatGPT to draft faster, nothing stops, they just draft slower. If the weekly report only exists because one person pastes data from three tools into a prompt every Friday, that is not AI usage, that is an arrangement, and it fails the first Friday they are on holiday.

What chat windows cannot do

Read your CRM at 7am without being asked. Write back to it. Notice that a field changed name and the numbers went quietly wrong. Run when nobody is logged in. These are integration problems, not prompting problems, and no amount of prompt skill closes them.

When to fund the person already doing it

If someone in the building has already built a working version that a second person has used, the internal version usually wins and it usually should. They know the business and they will still be there in month seven. Fund them formally, put a review schedule on the output, and write down how it works so it survives them. This loses us more deals than any other factor and it is still the right call.

The honest version of the answer

Most companies of five to fifty people need better habits with tools they already have, and a smaller number need systems wired together. If you cannot say which one you are, that is what the Diagnostic answers, and finishing it with the answer "you did not need us" is a normal outcome.

Still the wrong
answer for you?

Thirty minutes, no deck. Bring one messy process and the list of systems it touches. If the honest answer is that you do not need us, you will hear it on the call.
